Furnished Rentals in NoMad, Manhattan

NoMad

NoMad — North of Madison Square Park — is the pocket of Manhattan where the city finally exhales between the Flatiron's theatrics and Midtown's rush. Grand old commercial buildings have become hotels with rooftop bars, the side streets keep their nineteenth-century good looks, and Madison Square Park does the neighborhood's breathing for it, green and open a few blocks south. Our Pied-à-terre in the Sky sits between Fifth and Madison on East 29th — a compact, light-filled base for one or two, with the Empire State Building for a near neighbor and the whole island a short walk from the door.

Getting Around

Getting aroundNoMad is built for walking and better connected than it lets on. The 6 at 28th and Park is your local; the N, Q, R and W at 28th and Broadway run the length of the island; and Herald Square — five minutes north — pours the B, D, F, M, N, Q, R and W, plus PATH to New Jersey, onto one set of platforms. Cabs are constant on Fifth and Madison, and most of Midtown and the Village is closer on foot than the wait for a car.

Good To Know

Madison Square Park is the neighborhood's front garden — go early, before the Shake Shack line curls around the path, and the fountain and the dog run are yours. And when you want the Empire State Building without the wait, the trick is a weekday morning at opening: the view is the same, the elevator is empty, and you'll be back for a second coffee before the tour buses arrive.

“We were 8 ( middle aged) ladies but could have easily fit 12 very comfortably and up to 14/15 for close friends (I.e, would be sharing full beds at that point).”

“The house is gorgeous and in a great location. Seasonal is super responsive and was very accommodating. Highly recommend.”
